Customer Success (CS) teams often exist in B2B companies that work with significant, large-scale business customers requiring proper management to avoid losing them. The average duration of the initial position as a CSM is two years and may vary, depending on the organization.
In some companies, the CS position also refers to Customer Service, while in other companies, there is a clear distinction between the roles of Customer Success and Customer Service representatives. Support representatives are more reactive – they handle customer-initiated calls and respond to customer requests. Professionals call it inbound marketing.
